What is a VPN for Linux?

A virtual private network, or VPN, for Linux is a sophisticated cybersecurity tool that encrypts internet traffic and hides IP addresses from prying eyes.

A VPN for Linux stops others (including your internet service provider, or ISP) from monitoring the internet connections of Linux users, ensuring safer internet access and helping them defeat online censorship measures.

How to install a VPN on Linux

VPN Duo currently ships as an amd64 .deb package for Ubuntu, Debian, Linux Mint, and other compatible Debian-based distributions. Download it, install it with a single command, and you’re connected in under a minute.

1. Download the package

Grab the latest release below. Only 64-bit Intel and AMD machines are supported (amd64). ARM devices such as Raspberry Pi are not supported by this build.
